WOW! Well over 30 000 spectators were treated to the game of their lives on Saturday 23rd February in Port Elizabeth.
The Southern Kings played their first Super 15 game against the Western Force, winning 22 -10.
What an historic victory!
South Africa saw the finest display of courage, passion and ‘teams- manship’ anyone could ever hope to witness.
Given no chance of winning by most, the Southern Kings played with such determination and courage, they did themselves and their city so proud.
Well Done Kings !
A tribute must be paid to the backroom engine who have fought so valiantly to make the Kings and this historic victory a reality.
We salute you Mr Watson and Mr Solomons.
Eastern Cape Motors also want to mention a special player we have had the privilege of getting to know over the last few seasons, De Wet Barry. An absolute gentleman, De Wet personifies Courage & Determination.
Several seasons ago De Wet threw his lot in with the kings & the foundation he & his team laid provided the platform form for Luke’s Southern Kings historic victory.
Southern Kings, Eastern Cape Motors and Port Elizabeth congratulates you on your monumental victory, may you go from strength to strength in your Super 15 campaign.
We are behind you every step of the way.
“ You will never do anything in this world without Courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to Honour.” (Aristotle)
