Eastern Cape Motors Through The Years...
Eastern Cape Motors PTY LTD began with the management buyout of the McCarthy’s Mazda dealerships in Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage, and East London.
The Boksburg Ford & Mazda dealership, Consolidated Auto was added to the Group in June
The Nissan franchise was acquired in Port Elizabeth in March.
In March a new Mazda dealership was built in Newton Park Port Elizabeth.
A new Mazda dealership was built in King Williams Town.
After Ford’s first consolidation phase Eastern Cape Motors acquired Grovenor Ford in East London and lost the Mazda franchise in King Williams Town.
Eastern Cape Motors Mazda branches also acquired the Ford franchise.
Land Rover and Volvo were purchased in East London in July.
Ford and Mazda in King Williams Town were regained in August after the Ford dealer went insolvent again.
In the second phase of Ford SA’s consolidation, Pioneer Ford Port Elizabeth was acquired in September and absorbed into the North End facility.
At the same time in September, Land Rover and Volvo Port Elizabeth were also purchased.
A brand new multi-million Rand, Magnificent, State-of-the-art dealership was built on North Rand Road in Boksburg. We re-located to the new premises in October.
In October, a completely remodeled, upmarket Nissan dealership opened its doors in Uitenhage Road, Port Elizabeth.
In January Port Alfred Ford & Mazda were acquired.
Eastern Cape Motor Group opened the doors of their new state-of-the-art Mega Ford & Mazda dealership at William Moffett Port Elizabeth.
On the 1st of June, Volvo Eastern Cape PE opened its doors at its new Cape Road Newton Park address. Huge showroom floors & window frontage set off this magnificent new Volvo dealership.
East London's magnificent New Jaguar Land Rover dealership is opened in April.
Volvo East London is beautifully remodeled.
Mazda East London and Port Elizabeth commenced trading as independent New Dealerships on 1st October.
Datsun officially opened its doors in Port Elizabeth in October.
The Subaru franchise was acquired in Port Elizabeth,.
The Proton franchise was acquired in Port Elizabeth, King Williams Town and East London in September.
The rapidly expanding and very successful Mahindra franchise was been added to the Group (East London) in March.
The up and coming Chinese brand Foton, was added to the Group (East London, Kingwilliamstown, Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage) in June.
Geely joined the ECM stable in November.
Renault LDV DS Port Elizabeth was added to the ECM stable in May.
